A Modern, Nurturing Space for Learning & Play

Located in the heart of Brooklyn, Bija Kids Yoga Studio
is a beautifully designed communal space that serves
as a daycare, preschool, and yoga studio, offering a calm
and engaging environment for young children to learn, move,
and grow. Once home to a bowling alley and a local post office,
the 1,400 sq. ft. space was completely reimagined to create
a modern, nurturing sanctuary designed specifically for early childhood development.

With a clear vision from the start, we developed a thoughtful, minimal design approach that balances an urban aesthetic with
a soft, welcoming feel. The space was divided into three distinct areas, allowing for flexibility between preschool classes, movement programs, and special workshops. A light, neutral color palette, paired with natural materials and clean architectural lines, fosters a sense of calm and focus, while still feeling warm and inviting.

By integrating intuitive spatial planning, thoughtful material choices, and a commitment to creating a harmonious learning environment, this project perfectly reflects Bija Kids’ mission
of mindfulness and education. The result is a modern, community-centered space where children can explore, play, and
thrive—a true urban sanctuary for the next generation.
