A Thoughtful Transformation on the Upper West Side
For our clients, this Upper West Side home wasn’t just about square footage—it was about creating a space that truly supports their lifestyle. The apartment, already combined when they purchased it, offered potential, but the layout felt disjointed.
Our goal was to open up the space, enhance functionality, and bring in more light and flow, making it a home that felt as effortless as it was elegant.

At the center of this transformation is the expansive open-plan kitchen, designed to be the true heart of the home. A large central island anchors the space, creating a natural hub for cooking, conversation, and entertaining. The Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops add a touch of understated luxury, while hand-painted tiles from Mexico introduce artisanal texture and warmth. The kitchen's soft, muted color palette, featuring Benjamin Moore Santorini Blue cabinetry, balances brightness with depth, adding visual interest without overpowering the space.
To enhance openness and connectivity, we removed walls, allowing natural light to flow seamlessly between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The result is a home that feels expansive yet intimate, where every detail—from material selection to spatial planning—was considered to reflect how the owners truly live.
The design is not just about aesthetics; it’s about creating a home that supports their rhythm, encourages connection, and offers
a sense of ease and comfort in daily life.
